My participation in the publication of Marketing Greece’s “50 Creative Greeks / 50 Posters for Greece” with the theme of Greece.

“Seven-thirty in the morning. Rafina. The ferry, as the locals of the island call it, releases its lines and sets sail for Tinos. The weather is fine, a gentle breeze with the waves caressing the ship’s hull. The sun, blindingly yellow, has risen from the horizon, creating iridescence on the surface of the sea.

Greece. Its light, its sun. A natural element that is synonymous with it and makes it known worldwide. The sun is life-giving, it is hope, it is joy. On the ship’s deck, the sun was the inspiration for this poster with the theme of Greece.

 

Η συμμετοχή μου στην έκδοση του Marketing Greece “50 δημιουργικοί Έλληνες  /  50 αφίσες για την Ελλάδα” με θέμα την Ελλάδα.

“Επτά και τριάντα το πρωί. Ραφήνα. Το βαπόρι -όπως το αποκαλούν οι ντόπιοι κάτοικοι του νησιού- λύνει τους κάβους και σαλπάρει με προορισμό την Τήνο. Ο καιρός καλός, 3 βοριάς με το κύμα να γλείφει απαλά τη μπάντα του πλοίου. Ο ήλιος, εκτυφλωτικά κίτρινος, έχει προβάλει απ’ τον ορίζοντα δημιουργώντας ιριδισμούς στην επιφάνεια της θάλασσας.

Ελλάδα. Το φως της, ο ήλιος της. Ένα φυσικό στοιχείο που έχει ταυτιστεί μαζί της και την κάνει γνωστή ανά τον κόσμο. Ο ήλιος είναι ζωογόνος, είναι η ελπίδα, η χαρά. Ο ήλιος, στο κατάστρωμα του πλοίου, ήταν η έμπνευση για αυτή την αφίσα με θέμα την ΕΛΛΑΔΑ.”

Great Walk of Athens transforms the image of the historic center of Athens, giving the visitor the opportunity to get to know important historical and archaeological sites, but also the multiple opportunities the city has to offer.

Great Walk includes except of the pedestrian zone of Dionysiou Areopagitou and Apostolou Pavlou streets, also the route V. Amalia, V. Olgas, Irodou Attikou, V. Sofia, Panepistimiou, Athenas, Mitropoleos and Ermou, as well as the area of Plaka and the Commercial Triangle.

Grand Hyatt Athens introduces the Ancient Gods. In Greek mythology, Eros was the Greek god of attraction and passion. This love passion was described through an mythological schema involving “love’s arrows”. If these arrows were to arrive at the lover’s eyes, they would then travel to and “pierce” or “wound” his or her heart and overwhelm him/her with desire and longing.

The Cleaning Department of the MUNICIPALITY OF ATHENS is changing. Bins, garbage trucks, water trucks and the entire fleet of cars, “communicate” daily with the citizens, in the neighborhoods of Athens. Proverbs and popular sayings create a dialogue between them, provoking the responsibility of the citizens for a clean Athens.

The new logo of the LEFKOS STAVROS clinic. The familiar medical snake on the staff of Asclepius is deconstructed and acquires metaphorical meanings, defining the philosophy of LEFKOS STAVROS. The six horizontal lines represent the six floors of the clinic. The continuous line symbolizes the continuous care and treatment of patients. Its curvature signifies flexibility in responding to each case.

Nathalie Borst is a French artist who creates ceramics forms and conceptual photographs. This is the logo for her atelier at Rive Gauche in Paris. The owl, a symbol of wisdom, perspicacity and versatileness, standing at the left of “Rive Gauche” and looking with different eyes. One of them has a motive, a composition, a construction and refers to ceramics. The other is an open eye and refers to the visual snapshot of information.

Design of the cover page and separator pages of the issues of 4Assist’s Technical Offer to the European Commission, for the undertaking of a project in Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Following the company’s eco-friendly character, recycled paper was used for printing and binding was done by hand. The title of the project includes three basic concepts, which are depicted on the cover and can be used as sous-verre -removable from the cover- giving an interactive character to the Technical Offer. The inner separator pages are inspired by the title of each section of the text and are labeled with typography from the word LAOS. The color palette in the design of the books is defined by the red, blue and white colors of the Laotian flag.

Σχεδιασμός εξωφύλλου και διαχωριστικών σελίδων των τευχών Τεχνικής Προσφοράς της εταιρείας 4Assist προς την Κομισιόν για την ανάληψη έργου στην Λαϊκή Δημοκρατία του Λάος. Στα πλαίσια της οικολογικής ευαισθητοποίησης της εταιρείας, χρησιμοποιηθήκαν ανακυλωμένα χαρτιά για την εκτύπωση και η βιβλιοδεσία έγινε στο χέρι. Ο τίτλος του έργου εμπεριέχει τρεις βασικές έννοιες, οι οποίες αποτυπώνονται στο εξώφυλλο και λειτουργούν ως σουβέρ -αφαιρούμενα από το εξώφυλλο- δίδοντας διαδραστικό χαρακτήρα στην Τεχνική Προσφορά. Οι εσωτερικές διαχωριστικές σελίδες εμπνέονται από τον τίτλο της κάθε ενότητας του κειμένου και σηματοποιούνται με την τυπογραφία της λέξης LAOS. Η χρωματική παλέτα στον σχεδιασμό ορίζεται από το κόκκινο, το μπλε και το λευκό, χρώματα της σημαίας της Λαϊκής Δημοκρατίας του Λάος.

/ Το νέο λογότυπο της Περιφέρειας Στερεάς Ελλάδας ορίζεται από την αποδόμηση και τη σύνθεση των δύο γραμμάτων, Σ και Ε = Στερεά Ελλάδα. Πέντε ίσες αλλά διαφορετικές γραμμές, δημιουργούν τα αρχικά γράμματα και παραπέμπουν στους πέντε νομούς της Περιφέρειας (Εύβοια, Βοιωτία, Ευρυτανία, Φθιώτιδα, Φωκίδα). A hand-made invitation for a baptism and wedding in Mykonos island.  The invitation was inspired from Mykonos which is also known as “the island of winds”. For this reason it is a wind-chime. “You can ring my bell” in front of the envelope indicates the beginning of a big after baptism-wedding party.

New window design was created for fresh | life is sweet shops, to communicate the new macaron flavors. Inspiration for the design came from the geometric shape and the colorful texture of Parisian macaron. The tag line “the shape of sweetness” touches on – the most characteristic form of macaron- the cycle.

Christmas package for Fresh | life is sweet.
Supporting recycle and driven by the company’s eco-consciousness, I designed Fresh’s  Christmas packaging, using recycled paper. The phrase “Christmas sweet detail inside” impels the consumer to cut along the dashed lines of the tree, at the cap and bottom of the package, and create his own Christmas tree for 2012.

“A logo for Human Rights” – My participation

This logo is based on four straight, vertical, parallel lines that symbolize equality, stability, balance, characteristics of “human rights”. Four different lines = different people / all of them together = unity, they define the edges of a square, of a frame, of a group, of a union. Four open sides, “free” for all people and their equal rights.
